Like others, I have made an account here only to post about this specific song....epic! One thing I'd like to add: the line "everything sloped like it was dragged from a rope in the mouth of the south below" clearly denotes (to me) a view from orbit; close to Earth over the norther hemisphere, specifically. Other lines like "spires of the churches jutting out", "mountains kneeling", etc. seem to reflect this perspective as well. In any event, I think we all see something differently every time we hear this, which is why we listen to it. Thank you Joanna and Emily. |
