James Blunt – No Bravery Lyrics 14 years ago
Wow, that was really harsh of you. This person said "to me" that's what this song means, not "This is what James Blunt meant when he wrote this song." The burning of houses and rape are only in one section of the song. When you think about the general theme of the song, it does make sense to feel that as a first impression. To figure out the artist's true intentions of writing the song is the intellectual pleasure of experiencing a piece. To feel your own interpretion of a song.... that's inspiration! That's art!

That doesn't mean I agree with ignorance. I think people should always try to be aware of the artist's true intentions, even if they come up with their own feeling. Tednol stated he/she knows what the song is about which is what is important...

So when you say:

"you are the most unread person on the face of the earth.

Don't try and sully a great song about and emotional topic such as the Kosovo war with your bullshit political rhetoric."

you might want to think about what YOU're actually reading. This person obviously didn't "believe," as you said, any of those things about the burning of houses and raping. You might want to put a check on your emotions and intellect and not get the two confused. The way you defended the meaning of this song is the same kind of thinking that causes war itself. I think James Blunt would be disappointed to see this kind of comment about his song, but that would be for him to judge, not me.

I'm sure you have a fine, intelligent and perhaps passionate reason to have made such a statement, but please try to keep your statements a little more in check.

Nena – 99 Red Balloons Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree a lot with this. Love is not destroyed, but because in the beginning it starts as "you and I" with the two people together and ends with just one, it sounds like the person she was talking about died, but the love was still there.
