| Roger Daltrey – How Does the Cold Wind Cry Lyrics | 4 years ago |
|
It was written by ex-Gillan member Colin Town about the Ian Gillan's betrayal of his self titled band Gillan. He told them he had to take a break to have throat surgery (he didn't) and joined Black Sabbath. But that was just because he was waiting for Deep Purple to get back together (other members had contracts to finish out). So Gillan has this song (and another by another ex-Gillan member Jim McCoy, entitled Because You Lied) written about him. Like he tried to disguise songs with his jabs to Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore. Justice is sweet. |

| Deep Purple – The Spanish Archer Lyrics | 7 years ago |
|
At first I thought it was about a (romantic) couple breaking up. Upon listening to it a few times (quite a few times), I think it's Ian (Gillan) again swiping at Ritchie Blackmore. They already started having problems by this albums recording and Gillan would be gone after it. So, that makes 3 songs complaining about Ritchie: 1. Smooth Dancer (Deep Purple/Who Do We Think We Are) 2. Rainbow in the Dark (Dio/Holy Diver) 3. Spanish Archer (Deep Purple/House of Blue Light) maybe more. Blackmore must be doing something right! |

| Alice Cooper – Crazy Little Child Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| This is neither "Crazy Little Child" nor "Man With The Golden Gun". These lyrics here (as of 2/7/18) are from "Teenage Lament '74", | |
| Rainbow – Gates Of Babylon Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| @[obsidiansaber:3759] You do realize this is not an Yngwie cover, right? This is the original, written by Blackmore & Dio. | |
| Rainbow – Lady Of The Lake Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
This song was NOT written by Lyle Lovett, Matthew Charles Rollings, Viktor Kraus. It was written by Ritchie Blackmore & Ronnie James Dio |

| Tesla – Edison's Medicine Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
"along with number 3". Tesla maintained his friendships with Steinmetz, Twain and George Westinghouse. Of course that doesn't fit into the song so they just say there was a 3rd friend. It's just a matter of fitting into the rhyme of the song. |

| Alice Cooper – Billion Dollar Babies Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Billion Dollar Babies did not come right after Killer. It came after School's Out. | |
| Black Sabbath – The Hand That Rocks The Cradle Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
It's about abortion doctors (The oath you take is sacred, to save not steel a life, Like the passing of the sweetest soul, that looked Through human eyes.) |

| Deep Purple – When a Blind Man Cries Lyrics | 14 years ago |

I think the song is about two addicts who'd shoot up in a room. One of them dies (ODs). Maybe the surviving one has Heroine blindness... |
|
| Deep Purple – Smooth Dancer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Definitely about Blackmore as Gillan was getting ready to leave/be kicked out of Purple. | |
| Dio – Rainbow In The Dark Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Oh, please, this song is about Blackmore and Dio's PROFESSIONAL relationship. For example: "You're a picture, You're an image caught in time. We're a lie, You and I, we're words without a rhyme" Ritchie want to take Rainbow in a more commercial direction because he was very successful with Deep Purple. He was trying to recapture those days (an image caught in time). At the end Ritchie and Ronnie didn't get along (words without a rhyme). They couldn't agree on the genre Rainbow would continue in. |

| Rainbow – Man On The Silver Mountain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
The Man on the silver Mountain is Jesus. Dio plays with the sound-alikes sun/son. In (catholic) high school, we had to put together a mass. I got them to play this song and the school to sing along. |

| Rainbow – Eyes Of The World Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
It's too bad a lot of the words above are wrong. I think this song has new meaning as of 9/11. If it were to come out now, it would be about Bin Laden |
