| KT Tunstall – I Don't Want You Now Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Break-up song! I think the song kind of explains itself. You're done with them, you don't want to see them, they only make you unhappy. |

| KT Tunstall – Fade Like A Shadow Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
This is what it says on Wikipedia: Tunstall expanded on the song to M Is For Music: "The song is about when I met someone who had a really negative effect on me, and even though they were still alive, I experienced these almost visitation-like hauntings that I couldn't shake off. I took to wearing a t-shirt with the person's name on to try and exorcise them, which finally worked." That explains the like a ghost part. Also, I'm convinced it's "Got your head swinging, your snake head swinging" rather than hips. But I don't know! |

| KT Tunstall – Difficulty Lyrics | 13 years ago |

For me, this is about the same friend that "Another Place to Fall" is about. She did change every day, I was never sure how she was going to treat me from one day to the next. We'd be really close and then it was like we didn't know each other. It was really a toxic relationship. But. I loved her. Really I did. And I was in denial for a long time about how bad a friendship it was. I always heard "I'm governed by difficulty" as "I'm loving my difficulty" because that's how it was. |

| KT Tunstall – Another Place To Fall Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I had a friend like this. Always acting pessimistic, like her life sucks, but "I don't see no holes in the road," as in, nothing's actually that bad. And you just want them to snap out of it! They ask for friendly advice, but then don't take it. We're not friends anymore. |

| KT Tunstall – If Only Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| The "If only you could see me now" part always seems to me like, "Hey, look where I got without you." I'm not sure how the rest fits in with that, but that's always been my interpretation. | |
| KT Tunstall – Come On, Get In Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| Sounds right to me! I just love how exuberant this song is. | |
| KT Tunstall – Golden Frames Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I've read on forums that it's maybe about an alien abduction. Apparently she's said that at concerts. Maybe not alien abduction in particular, but abduction. Which of course could translate to insanity, or corruption from fame, or kidnapping... | |
| Suzanne Vega – It Makes Me Wonder Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think this might be about a relationship with someone who's super religious. They want to be chaste but stray ever closer to the line between chaste and non-chaste. She wants to be the most important thing to them but she isn't, the Virgin Mary is. That's what I'm getting from this song. | |
| Suzanne Vega – Blood Sings Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I think it's about twins separated at birth and then reunited. "One body split and passed along the line" As if they are really the same person in two bodies. Then maybe they're reunited and one of them turns out much worse off than the other. That's my feeling. |

| Lady GaGa – Dance in the Dark Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The "I'm a free bitch" thing is in Bad Romance too... ("Work it, I'm a free bitch, baby") It must just be a line she likes. :) | |
| Evanescence – Lithium Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think pretty much everyone has nailed it, that it's about being depressed or bipolar and being afraid to be normal again. It's especially about not wanting to take lithium. I know I would never want to take a mood-altering drug, I wouldn't want something influencing my emotions even if it was "for the better." | |
| Evanescence – Hello Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it could be about a suicide. Maybe it's from the point of view of someone close to them, maybe a sister. Especially the "Hello, I'm still here, all that's left of yesterday" like "yesterday" is when the victim wasn't depressed. And maybe "Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken" is something the victim said at some point. I absolutely love this song, it's so spooky and beautiful. | |
| Bad Religion – Sorrow Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I like how at the end it says there will be sorrow, no more. I think you have to look at that, like it's just about how there will always be sorrow until "all soldiers lay their weapons down Or when all kings and all queens relinquish their crowns Or when the only true messiah rescues us from ourselves" |
|
| Sing It Loud – No One Can Touch Us Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| This song is just simply about blissful love. Letting everything go, getting away from everyone, and just being free with your love. So cute :) | |
| The After Midnight Project – Take Me Home Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I really like the middle part, about how somebody killed himself just to show how much her love was worth, like he did it because he wanted her to realize how much he loved her. I think this song might switch viewpoints, like the part about the dagger is the singer imagining what other people would say if he killed himself. When it says "I" he's talking about himself, like the chorus and the first verse. But it kind of confuses me that he would kill himself for her love... but he says he can't love her? Maybe it's a replay of a conversation, like this: Girl: Take me home I wanna go And I'm sorry I can't love you Guy: I'm sorry I can't make you see who I am I am not really sure. |
|
| Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Here's my opinion. I think this song (or at least the chorus) is about how no matter what "scene" you run with, it's always kind of a contest. Basically the singer is saying "I don't care what side you're on, I just want to mix things up and start rumors." The singer is kind of in a controlling position, like if he keeps everyone mad at each other, he's always on top. "Fitting you with weapons in the form of words" Basically saying, I'll give you rumors to spread about them. He wants to be the "leading man" by spreading lies that are "oh so intricate." Yeah, that's what I think. It's about someone who stays above conflict by way of creating it. Of course, I'll always love the misheard lyrics "I'm a little man, and I'm also evil, also into cats" :P |

| t.A.T.u. – 220 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Well, I found out that 220 is the standard voltage in europe, and this song is apparently about electrocuting yourself. Here is a video with a good lyric translation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fATW-4yn7Dg | |
| t.A.T.u. – You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Apparently, although I've never heard of it until now. | |
| t.A.T.u. – Snegopady Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is basically about hiding and being quiet. Here's a translation: Black, white Different lines I want to grow Long hair All disappears and reappears Switches and doesn't end. All continues with rises, falls Under snowfalls. Touch quietly Come closer, Come Arranged on the roof Come closer, Come Touch quietly Come closer, Come Arranged on the roof Come closer, Come We seem like stars Different Your star is dark blue I am clear red At the very wrong time, too thoughtless One thousand times or countless We are divided after highways Under snowfalls Touch quietly Come closer, Come Arranged on the roof Come closer, Come Touch quietly Come closer, Come Arranged on the roof Come closer, Come So you see, there are parts about being different, and parts about hiding and being quiet. This is strange but another song I thought of was Snow by RHCP... funny isn't it? |

| t.A.T.u. – Nas Ne Dagoniat Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| The translation of this is very similar to "Not Gonna Get Us," more similar than most of their Russian/English versions of songs. It's the same kind of, they're not going to catch us, we'll run away, in the night, etc. | |
| t.A.T.u. – Running Blind Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
At first my reaction was, yeah, they're trying to find someone they've lost or someone that's trying to hide from them, DUH... But then it hit me, what if they're trying to find themself? What if they feel like they've lost themself and they're trying to find it? Or maybe they've realized there's something angry inside them and they need to get it out? It could be a mental thing, you know? |
|
| t.A.T.u. – 220 Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I really don't get this one? It's confusing. Maybe there's one of those "does not translate" things from Russian going on? Language barrier? |
|
| t.A.T.u. – Null And Void Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
First comment whoooo! My idea is that this is about someone who is so infatuated with her lover that she's like, "Do whatever you want to me, my life is nothing anyway" and she basically wants them to take over her life and take advantage of her. Sad, isn't it? |
|
| t.A.T.u. – Robot Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I don't speak Russian, but from the translation I think it's about a girl who is in love with someone who is devoid of emotions, and whoever she's in love with acts normal but for some reason has no emotions, and she doesn't want people to know she's in love with an emotionless person because they will try to take them apart. Just my ideas. Although the vibrator explanation does sound plausible... :D |

| t.A.T.u. – Clowns (Can You See Me Now?) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Sorry I forgot to post this but I think it might be about self injury, and the singer wants their friend to see, "I'm hurting myself, please help me, please see who I am, but help me and don't leave me..." | |
| t.A.T.u. – Clowns (Can You See Me Now?) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
My opinion is that it's about someone who has a big problem and it's causing them grief, but their family/friends/lover thinks it's something they can just get over. They're saying, "It's a cross I need to bear," meaning they don't really just want the problem to go away, but "All this black and cruel despair" it is hurting them. The "Can you see me now?" I think is basically, "You refused to look at who I really am before, so can you see me now?" Like maybe the friend doesn't want to see who this person is because it's too awful for them, and the singer wants them to see. At the same time, the singer doesn't want them to see everything "I have secrets I won't share" I think the clowns analogy is like, everyone else in the world besides the singer and the friend, and they're just bothering them? Or maybe clowns is representing their emotions, although you have to remember that clowns wear masks/facepaint and maybe it's like, "I was masked like a clown this whole time, can you see me for real now?" Sorry, that was a little rambly... :D |
