I read that River once saw this picture of his father (who left the family when River was a kid) posing with a drink and a cigar, and that he (river) thought that his father left the family because of drinking problems. He then wrote this song, and years later he talks to his mother about the picture and the song, and she tells hi that his father never used alcohol, nor smoked and that the picture was a joke... I can't remember where I read it thought... |
