Ceiling Wax?!?!? Oh dear.....if someone hadn't already corrected that, I would! This song is about an out-of-control girl...spoilt, crazy, annoying....brilliant lyrics! |

Ha! This song is most definitely not about a dog - Bob was pulling your leg with that comment! And neither is it about Bob being a voyeur or drugging someone — where on earth do you people get these crazy ideas?!??! It’s a love song, pure and simple. I think the woman in question might have a husband or boyfriend who isn’t Bob, hence the line ‘you can have your cake and eat it too’(When someone is cheating on their boyfriend/girlfriend, people will often make the comment that they want to have their cake and eat it too!) But I certainly don’t think there’s any dark or mysterious meaning behind this song; it’s just a beautiful song! |

| The organ playing on this son is so very very cool! | |
| The Rolling Stones – Under My Thumb Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This song is not insulting to women! Maybe it would be if he was just talking about some random woman he pushes around, but he's not - the song is about a woman who has pushed HIM around, but now the tables are turned. Fair enough, she's got what's coming to her!! This song is brilliant :o) | |

bellaboo137 - this song disgusts you?! Really, get a grip, it's just a song! Just because he is singing about slave girls being sexually abused doesn't mean the band approve of slavery and degrading women etc. The song is telling a story, and I can think of many songs which tell stories about people in situations they’d rather not be — they’re not condoning it, it’s just a fact of life that bad things happen!! Personally, I absolutely ADORE this song!! Definitely the best song the Stones every produced, and possibly my favourite song ever! |

Anyone who thinks this song isn’t about drugs is kidding themselves! This song has a double meaning — they’ll ‘stone’ you, criticise you, whatever you do, whether you’re being good or not….so as we’re going to get criticised anyway, we might as well all just get stoned :o) That’s what so clever about this song — it has two meanings it is trying to convey! Personally, I absolutely love the ‘stoned’ sounding band — a perfect backing to the song! |

This song is one of my favourites - absolutely beautiful song! I particularly like the line about 'I got a bird that whistles, I got a bird that sings' Doesn't take much interpretation in terms of the lyrics, but beautiful song all the same! |
