Techrat, I think you just said it all. I hate it when people hear "...fuck you like an animal" and think "Lol, this song is about sex." |

Hmm, what a tricky song to interpret. To me, its like an inner demon telling the main character to do something bad, but there is a good side telling him not to. The main character tells the good side to go away "I don't need another friend". He wants to feed this demon "Time to feed the monster". He wants to get what he came fore because it is his. The demon tells him to lie to get away with it. |

After he destroyed his living room (See my comment on "Just Like You Imagined"), the main character got arrested and tried to attack the police, but got knocked out and taken to an asylum. The next day he woke up, not knowing where he was. He tried to convince himself he was alright, while fighting off the demons of his past. |

After the main character broke up with his girlfriend (See my comment on "The Fragile") he sat in his lounge, his head in his hands, realising what he had done, but wondering why he did it. Then he slowly stood up, getting angrier by the minute, then he grabbed a photo of her and smashed it against the wall. As he got angrier with himself he started kicking and punching the wall. Then he punched a gaping hole in his television and knocked the door down. Afterwards he started punching himself furiously. After he calmed down and saw all the damage he'd done, he knelt down and screamed at the top of his lungs and collapsed. |

After the break-up (See my comment on "We're in this Together") the main character reflected on all the good times
they had before the breakup. He saw her as the most beautiful person on earth, but she didn't see it.
He wouldn't let her break down or get angsty. He tried to protect her from all the evil that obstructed their
relationship by doing anything he could to protect her. But then he protected her too much then they broke up. |

Before he found his idol (See my comment on "Somewhat Damaged") the main character had a girlfriend, their relationship wasn't perfect, but he still loved her. They just took life as it came, blow by blow. They tried to me happy, even with distractions trying to pry their relationship apart. Then when they think their relationship is breaking apart, they still hold on. Then the main character's ex-girlfriend comes in and they have a huge fight. He tries to explain the sudden intrusion to his girlfriend, but then they break up and he falls to his knees in despair. |

I see this song as a prelude to "The Day the World Went Away" (See my comment on the song), because it shows the main character what will happen to him if he worships the idol (See "Somewhat Damaged" comment). It tells him that he will become one of the wretched, a group of lost souls who have nothing. The main character wants hope and happiness, but it is impossible in this horrible place.
Life didn't turn out to be the dream life he wanted, now he knows what it feels like to be one of the wretched. After this the wretched say "God can't help you now. He will just push you down and kick you around." |

Even though it has no lyrics, this song still tells a story. What I see it as is the funeral of the main character (See my posts in "Somewhat Damaged" and "The Day the World Went Away" to see what I mean, in that order.) after he commits suicide. The ambience of the song represents his vulnerability and weakness. |

"I'd listen to the words he'd say, but in his voice I heard decay" Basically what I think this means is that the main character is now reflecting on what his idol (See my post in "Somewhat Damaged") said to him when they talked. The idol tried to give him advice, but the main character heard nothing but lies and corruption.
"the plastic face forced to portray, all the insides left cold and gray" This means that the idol wore a metaphorical mask to hide his true, corrupt self. The mask made him look like a good person, but only the main character saw him for who he really was (In SD). His heart was as cold, grey and hard as a stone.
"there is a place that still remains, it eats the fear it eats the pain" The main character is unhappy with his life, because of his false idol. So he attempts self-harm to escape from reality. His body slowly fades away when he harms himself, thus eating away the fear and easing the pain.
"the sweetest price he'll have to pay, the day the whole world went away" The idol has learned of his follower's suicide and now feels bad about what he did. Now he has to pay the hefty price of guilt, all because the main character died. |

What an incredibly angry song! Its like the main character is angry at somebody who he once idolised "Tried so hard to be like you", then he tries too hard and loses his faith in his idol "Lost my faith in everything". Then he starts to get pissed with himself for following this so-called idol "Taste the wealth of hate in me".
After this he tells the world to fuck off "Fuck the rest and stab it dead", which shows his anger at the world for turning its back on him. "broken bruised forgotten sore, too fucked up to care anymore, poisoned to my rotten core, too fucked up to care anymore" what I think this means is that the main character has been emotionally destroyed by this idol.
Basically the song, in my opinion, is about a guy who once worshipped some celebrity or some other idol, and metaphorically destroys everything in sight (Which explains the screaming and heavy beats). He thought he would be changed by his idol, but he was mentally destroyed. |
