Icarius Fixius is dead on. It is dancer (not DANCERS, it's poetic lisence look it up sometime) and it does make sense. It's one of my favorite songs, but Mr. Brightside has better music and Spaceman has better lyrics.
I love how the Killers are into the whole life/death love/hate thing XD

No it isn't. The alien idea is really an idea for those who don't bother to look deeper into the song. The 'cut him open' and 'white light beams' might confuse some people, but the doctors cut him open to save his life, and the white light is a symbolism of the angels calling his name. |

Guys, I don't know how many of you get this, but the Killers have deep meanings for almost all of their songs, and an alien abduction is DEFINATELY not what they meant. If you listen carefully, you'd get that it's really about somebody who tried to commit suicide, changed his mind as the doctors 'cut him open,' and regretted what he did after he was saved. He then enjoyed his life more than ever. |
