RA is saying that when the soldier comes home, and they are praised and glorified, the soldiers know in their hearts they didnt like what they had to do and what they did shouldnt be praised. Soldiers just want our respect and support because they're job is the hardest job in the world. The verses reflect the firsthand soldier experiences so that the listener gets a more real idea of what a soldier may go through daily. A soldier does this for their country and the people who live in them, regardless of how they feel about what they're doing. The flag is the symbolism that represents those people. |

just because it doesnt literally say "christian" or "God" in the song doesnt mean it isnt about it, like i said to a guy down further down on the comment page here, do some background research on the band, i would agree 100 percent with HP's interpretation |
