this song obviously relates to NO, but as with every Sage song EVERY LINE is a metaphor for something else. "I just sit there and let the thoughts flood... The waterline is rising and all we do is stand there" This song isn't referring only to N.O., but every time someone feels something is wrong, and instead of acting on it, they just 'stand there' and let the 'thoughts flood'. It's time to act, and take a stand.. on whatever situation you feel strongly about. |
