This song is based on a true event. Collins and his friends were playing in a park when one of his friends fell in a lake or pond and was drowning. there was a homeless man there watching and he did not help the drowning friend. the friend ended up drowning. he wrote this song as a memory of the moment. when he first decided to play this song he found the homeless man and gave him front row tickets and such to the show. and then he revealed to the homeless man who he was by singing the song and looking at him the whole song so everyone knew this song was about the moment with this homeless man, and how he waited his whole life for that moment. | i think that this song is about being a kid again and having a crazy imagination. when your a kid you never want to go to sleep because all you care about is being awake and having fun. i think that when he says planet earth turns slowly he wishes the day was longer so he could have more time to be a kid again. your imagination is wild as a kid so thats what he means by everything is never as it seems. | |

| I honestly think that Chris Martin has one of the most amazing voices and that on top of the diversity and perfection of the instruments they play, it just makes Coldplay so fucking amazing!!! Anyone that accuses them of taking anything from U2 is a D-Bag... just because they sounds the same doesn't mean anything there are plenty of other music artists that take beats and rhythms from other artist and make them their own.
