It's obviously about going crazy and eating the girl while on drugs ("Don't wanna follow the laws of man" "this ain't reality"). I love how subtly creepy QOTSA can be sometimes. Oh, and there's no "dark humour" in "The Mosquito Song" or "How to Handle a Rope". These are just creepy, unsettling songs. |

This is probably among the creepiest songs ever. Dreamy (in my opinion, it's the very definition of Dream Pop), uplifting music, terribly pained lyrics about two lovers in a really turbulent relationship ("every door conceals a dream and a nightmare") in which love and hate walk together, but somehow the love is stronger ("my love for you still burns"). Even after death, like the above guys said.
Very dismal song. I don't even play it that often. |
