Gonna have to disagree with you. But you know the funny thing about Muse? Even those (rare) songs that you might initially dislike or think are mediocre, you find yourself listening to one day, and all of a sudden... you start enjoying it. At least that's how it's been in my experience. This song was one of them, and I'm listening to it now. Then again, I find it hard to strongly dislike any Muse song, but I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. (And yes, I reply to comments made years and years ago, so so sue me.) |

| Aw darn. :( BTW, I think you mean "swing" instead of "sing". | |

Well jabbermigg, obviously you took the time to make a long reply, so kudos for that. I really don't agree with what you said, however. You know, the thing I can't stand about Christians isn't their faith or anything like that, but their constant need to force ("share") their beliefs on everyone else. The "Truth" you speak of is only truth to you and whoever else shares your beliefs. It's not truth to the rest of us, and some of us may even see it as useless and deceptive lies. Believe in a "Messiah" and a "devil" if you want, but that doesn't mean everyone else does or should. Honestly, go take your preaching somewhere else. This is hardly the place for it. As for the song itself, I love it, but don't really feel like analyzing it right now. Maybe another day. |

I thought I'd make a small correction to the lyrics: "If the Divine master plan is perfection (Skeeter...) Maybe next I'll give Judas a try (Skeeter...)" Skeeter (which was carved on the tree in the video) was the nickname that was given to her baby. I think this was revealed in an interview somewhere, but it's been so long I can't remember. Also interesting to note in the video is that her outfit was supposed to look like a maternity dress. The twins at the end (I think one was actually a boy) represented "the angels that didn't help". And the drop of blood at the end might represent the miscarriage itself. |
