I don't think the song "as a whole" is about her dad, I feel as though she needed to mention him to create a background for the consumer,... without it you wouldn't know some of the reasons as to why she wanted to leave... Obviously she was very naive- sugar coating- her relationship, it's as though one day she woke-up and realised life doesn't always turn out as planned (as we all know) and this was not the life she had ever wanted, doesn't mean the love wasn't real- it just wasn't right for her! She surely knows the true meaning of sadness you can feel it in her voice when she sings. She is one of the best singer/songwriters ever, she will never truely die! |

this song means soooo much to my life! i need it every day, it relieves me ive always wanted to get out of my town (i still do) but this song pulls me back and tells me that some times running away isnt a cure for everything! my favourite part of this song is when she talks of her dad it gives me tingles, ive never felt like that about my father |

this song is definately one of the most beautiful songs,
to me it relates to my ex and i, i can share my feelings openly ... he just couldnt, it wasnt until we split that i realised he truely loved me, he just didnt know how to express it and i hated him for it. for that i am sorry :( |

i remember the first time i heard this song, of course in that scene where "jilly" (nicole kidman) is driving to freedom in "practical magic" the song itself means alot to me, i absolutely adore it! its beautiful!!! |
