In the last section of the song I could be wrong but I swear he's saying Say, can I make up that mistake; Say what it is I want to say to you; say what; I think this song is about being misrepresented/wanting to set the record straight... maybe having something to do with everyone calling him the king of chill wave and him not wanting anything to do with it. Just a feeling... Favorite song on the album. |

The lyrics look right except for two lines the first one "All the kicks I cant compare too" I think it should be "All the kids I can't compare too" and the line" You and I are friends" sounds more like "You and all your friends". Other than that I think the meaning of the song is pretty straight forward, I think he's just trying to convey that when your younger so much pressure is put on being social that people become so wrapped up in the life's of others and they never figure out who they really are and what makes them happy. |

| This song is about heroin. Coal is slang for heroin and from the looks of things said person (Trey) was doing heroin for 45 days when it then ran out on Day 46. "looking for clues but the couldn't be found" would mean no one in the town had any Until Day 47 when Leigh found some. The last line is probably a reference to the fear of going through withdrawal. | |
