| while i'm at it, it really feels to me like a father/son back and forth, and thinking of it that way makes it really poignant to me. because the father, at death, says that eternity will repair him, but at the end (on the album version anyways) antony sings "oh no, we don't know nothin daddy but this world", a sort of really sad opposite viewpoint on death and eternity. | |

i made an account just to comment on how beautiful this song is. i think it has something to do with his father dying... as pure speculation, i see it as a mix of his father addressing him, saying that eternity will take care of him, and a son giving him over to eternity and death. (i listen to the song as addressing the baby boy, not calling the baby boy "aeon," though i don't know if that's decideable....) and, the real reason i love the song, is the way he yells that "SO MUCH." can't help but tear up a bit, you know? |
