This song is from a movie called Cover about a woman who discovers that her husband is on the Down Low. This movie is so shocking that when it ended I sat there watching the credits unable to move because I could not beleive what I had just seen. And to realize that this is the story of women today brought me tears. As I listened to this song I fell in love with the meaning of it and was able to apply it to a relationship that I just ended. What she's saying is that this man was the love of her life the person she thuoght was her soul mate. But later finds out that he's not. And even though she may have known she was still waiting for him hoping that things woudl work out. The bottom line is that they didn't and once she was willign to accept that they were not meant to be she was able to be okay with it. The acceptance of that has freed her heart even though she still may not understand acceptance means freedom. |
