This is a great! Silverstein should try making more songs with a female vocalist in the mix. As for the song, I think it's about a depressed guy that meets a really amazing girl. He thinks he is too hardened for the girl to really love him or reach the sorrow inside him, but in the process of his self-loathing and the destruction of anything important to him (including his relationship), he realizes he cares for the girl more than he hates himself. He is unable get over her or even let her out of his life. Luckily, it turns out that it isn't too late for them when the girl shows that she loves him too (even though it seems that the girl might be saying that out of fear for what the guy might do to himself if she doesn't say it; even if this is true, it still shows that she cares for him). However, there is no happy ending to this story. Depending on how you interpret "we'll both die tonight," it could be either that their relationship dies or the guy brings the girl down with him. Either way, it's The End. |
