"Sugar's got a space ship tripping over dusty stars" I love that line! I can't really think how to explain what I think about this song..just the word it brings to my head. Curiosity. It's great : ] |

This is such a great song, I haven't even began to think about what it means though. But I do know that the line "And if you see me roaming the hillside won't you come along?" is also in "Your Pussy's Glued To A Building On Fire" |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Parallel Universe Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I absolutely disagree with anyone who believes this song is about heroin addiction. (And it's spelled H-E-R-O-I-N!!) Anyhow, I agree with I_Love_JF very much. I think people blame the meaning behind the lyrics of this song on drugs, because they don't understand it. I really do think this is an interpretation of what Anthony (or John..or whoever actually wrote the lyrics for this song) thinks he would see in a Parallel Universe, because I know that John is feels very strongly about parallel universes, dimensions, physical planes, ect.. | |

After I got the album, this was the first song (besides Unreachable, because I had already downloaded that one from the internet) that I chose to listen to over of the rest, based on the beginning. The choir singing, is stunning and I really jammed out to it the first time I heard it. As far as the meaning behind the lyrics go, I interpreted this one as a love letter, type song. It almost seems like a love letter, to an ex-lover, like he wants her back. Because, for one, throughout the lyrical part of this song, he says "you" quite a few times, as if to be speaking to a lover. And then, "Did you ever notice, That it's for you that I've lived my life, Every time I had fun you were on my mind." I thought that part was pretty obvious. And when he goes on to say "I've lost my perspective, I've gone off the wall. Really not really sure if I'm needed here at all." and I understood this to mean, that he's lost it now that she's gone...and he doesn't feel needed anymore. And then he proceeds to say; "I was made to think that we would wind up round here." Meaning, maybe that he had a bad feeling about the relationship from the beginning despite his love for her? And I thought that the last section was easily self explanitory.. So anyway, that's one way I interpreted this one. However, at the same time I disagree with myself because a love song seems somewhat out of place in this record. (In contrast with the rest of the songs) But hey, who knows.. |

| John Frusciante – At Your Enemies Lyrics | 17 years ago |

One of my favorites hands down! Josh Klinghoffer's voice is so other-worldly. It gives me chills down my spine, and puts my head in the clouds. If the real lyrics are "Open your can of worms, let them at your enemies" I would think that he means to let yourself be vulnurable to your enemies..? I'm not sure though. The confusion that these lyrics create in my head is what I personally think makes it so great. |

| John Frusciante – Ah Yom Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| My interpretation of this was that you are constantly in motion towards something, and that there are many ways to reach it, many things you can do to reach it. I would think that something is afterlife or some kind of liberation..that's what I believe myself, and what I personally think John was trying to express with this song. | |
| John Frusciante – After The Ending Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I really loved the voice effects in this song. The lyrics to most of the song seem very pessimistic, until the part where John is whispering. That part seems somewhat hopeful. I liked how those lyrics were put at the end, to leave you with that hope. | |
| John Frusciante – A Fall Thru The Ground Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I agree alot with the whole budhism thought. Many of his songs are very spiritual, so it doesn't surprise me that even in his second album, his lyrics had links to spirituality. I agree with the addiction idea as well, but to whoever said this song was written when he was 17 years old (I'm not saying it wasn't because I don't know if it was or not) how would he be writting about addiction? I really thought that he hadn't done too many hard drugs at that age. (I believe he'd been doing coke..is that was he was referring to?) | |

I agree completely. When I first heard this one, I really enjoyed the tune, though I wasn't fully able to understand all the words John was singing. So as I read the lyrics through for the first time that's how I understood it.. that this was what John would say if he were God. |
