This song could be about a guy realizing he loves his wife more than he thought. "There's no need for you to say you're sorry, goodbye I'm going home." That could be him talking to somebody he's about to have an affair with, saying, "I can't do this, I'm going back home." and reassuring them the whole thing doesn't matter anymore, so they don't have to feel guilty or whatever. "I hate the books you read and all your friends, your music's shite it keeps me up all night." That could be him bitching about his wife. Well, it probably is. "And it will be nice to be alone, for a week or two, but I know that I will be, right back here with you." That's him thinking about how nice it'd be to leave his wife, just for a little bit, but then realizes it's useless and he'll just end up going back home and falling in love with her all over again. |

The first time I listened to this song, I realized the bassline was reallllly familiar. It puzzled me for a while, because I knew I heard that line before but I couldn't remember what song I heard it from. But now I figured it out. Not saying Oasis stole that line (it's bitchin so i don't care much), but I thought it was really weird! I love this song btw. One of my favorites off the album. |
