It is strange to hear someone else say exactly what you feel about a relationship. Corey Taylor has written some very deep lyrics and this is just another example. It seems to me that this relationship has gone through a few phases. She left him because he had problems then he tried to fix it but she didn't care as much as she used to and is unsure now. He wants the relationship all or nothing and she is unsure. If she still cares it will kill him to know because they both know it can't work so he would rather have it be over with no hope of reconciling than wonder. This song has really struck a cord with me and I think it is one of those songs that can change the way you look at your life. This is truly what great music is supposed to do. I am so glad I found this song. |

I could not agree with you more. The first time I heard this song I thought about military life. I am a Marine vet and the line about going home for one week along with the line about told what to do but I don't know why rung true to me. I told a friend about this and she had a different view which is why I think this song is so good. It can touch different people in different ways which is what truly good music is all about. |
