i absolutely love this song one of my favs, im really into music and it seems like he is talking about God speaking to him but because hes a musician it comes to him in song, nothing in a psychotic way just a beautiful song. and for christian artists a lot of their inspiration comes in that sense. |

i think this song is about his friend or could be a girlfriend who is taking another path in life, maybe she is moving or running away even to try to avoid some problems or a friend that has gone astray and has changed personalities and has been getting in trouble, but they were good friends and she had an impact on his life, and he will never forget that. and maybe what she said to him late last night was im leaving, not necissarily breaking up but i can see how that would make sense too. and maybe when he says "this time im walking out the door" maybe shes done this more than once and hes tired of it and decides im the one walking away this time. |

i would say everything you guys have said, this is such a great song, and today i have especially been listening to it all day i just set it on repeat on my ipod, and even though the lyrics are simple and fairly short, i just am brought back to the first verse, and it just applies to my life so much....but the "burn back the sun" i think means burn it back hotter cuz the grey skies that are over me now, are just making me miserable. |
