i think this is about 9/11 because i think (not sure) that one of the guys involved in the plane bombing was theson of a holy muslim radicalist in America which explains " God damn, I might be the son of Sam. The only child of a holy man." and "paint it blackand white if you like" means fine look at the world as good and evil but "The story is still the same" its not going to change any thing he's saying that the world is "gray" "You know the world just ain't right So tell me whose to blame" muslim radicalist think that the U.S. is the great Satan that we're evil "I stand alone for all to see, 'Cause they ain't never seen a war like me." america has never faced that kind of distruction before and the guy is suppoosedly getting a lot of glory from it "Burning buildings fall apart." 9/11 "Send the best, and send their love." either means that the people in the buldings are sending their love to their families as they die or its from the view of this madman and hes being sarcastic because the radicalists are sending their hate "Turn away. Goodbye, goodnight. Go to sleep, now don't you cry. Are you afraid your life means less? Are you concerned you might be next?" pretty much the madman taunting U.S. citizens 'And i will catch you but you might break the fall" originally these radicalists got their weapons from us helping them stop the Soviets from taking them over but when the war was over we abandoned them and they pretty much had to pick up the pieces so could be referring to how we helped them then let them break the fall for us or could just be saying that the madman is saying he'll pretend to help us but really let us be the ones that get hurt "Your ceiling falling piece by pieces, Raining down like concrete." allof the references to destructio could be talking about the fear and confusion or/and 9/11 "Just surrender, and remember what You've done to me" basically saying for us to give up and ironically remeber what we did to the radicallists because they think we're the evil ones and its ironic because they are the ones who are cruelly hurting us showing that they are crazy "Look now, over your shoulder. No, it's not over. It's just beginning. And now we'll write the final ending" saying watch out for us (the radicalists) be scared because we're gonna destroty you because originally he radicallists were going to blow up more than the twin towers but we were able to stop them and they are sayng they will destry us and take over so possibly this whole song is through the viewpoint of one of the radicalists in 9/11 and its a way of showing how twisted and corrupted they are but i could be completely wrong and there could be a whole different interpretation to this... |
