Joy Division – She's Lost Control Lyrics 14 years ago
i think this song isn't exclusively about epilepsy. and that it's more about genuinely that feeling of losing all hold over your life. SIMILAR TO AN EPILEPTIC SEIZURE. so i think he's communicating the deterioration of someone's life through that epileptic imagery. that there out of control mentally, as opposed to the physical instability when your having a seizure.

Bring Me the Horizon – Suicide Season Lyrics 16 years ago
i don't know if anyone has posted it yet, but the song is about a friend of oli's whos dad had died, and then that friend changed. and the friend became resentful and in the end because of it the friend lost all of his/her friends including oli, at the time of the interview, oli still hadn't been in contact with this person. hope that helps.

Bring Me the Horizon – Chelsea Smile Lyrics 16 years ago
to clear this up for a lot of people. one person said they think this song is about religion? well it refers to religion but its not about religion. any person that doesn't believe in god. just, think to a time where you were really down and fucked up. and you know you may turn to god even though you dont believe he exsists, i know i have. i dont believe in a god, but at times a tried to pray just as a last resort. Oli is at his last resort and so is pleading with god to help him. even though he knows he isn't there.

someone else said about the lyrical reference to the first album, "i counted my blessings, now i'll count this curse" in chelsea smile and "count your blessings" in pray for plagues, yes it is a reference.
if you listen to Diamonds Aren't Forever. there is a reference to the EP TIWTEOYSWMF. in the line, "i've said it before and i'll say it again, if you think your alive then your better off dead.
a reference to a track on the EP, "if you think your alive, well your better off dead"

hope that clears this song up. :)

Hey Monday – Run, Don't Walk Lyrics 16 years ago
in my personal opinion, i can see where people get there musical similarities with paramore, myself i think there more like youmeatsix or all time low? just fronted by a girl, you know catchy verses powerful louder catchier chorus?
anyone agree with that
All time low?
youmeatsix?
maybe even Cute is what we aim for, slightly, very slightly.

Bring Me the Horizon – For Stevie Wonder's Eyes Only (Braille) Lyrics 17 years ago
havnt read all the comments so this may have been covered,
reference to the title.
in my own view
"for stevie wonders eyes only" i saw someone clarify that stevie wonder is blind and that its therefore for blind eyes only.

it occured to me about 6 months after first listening to the sing that, Oli is ashamed of the things he's talking about (teenage pregnancy, thats obvious) and he feels thats it only fit to be seen by the blind.
hense the title.
hes ashmamed.
not explained the best, but if you get that im pretty sure you will agree

Bring Me the Horizon – Pray For Plagues Lyrics 17 years ago
Mahala pretty much covers it. didnt read there comment in depth though, so he/she may have said this but i think the biblical references stem from Oli wanting this girl to want to be punished.
"close your eyes, pray for plagues"
he wants her to pray to god that he will send her plagues and "cleanse this earth" but obviously punishing her. little bit like noah's ark with the cleansing with the flood. sort of.
you might unerstand that last bit about noah, thought i'd throw it in there though.
but yeah i think thats where the biblical references come from. and he feels the need to continues this ultimately moulding the song.
"count your blessings, cause im counting lie"
"watch the rivers, turn to blood" (one of the plagues)
"clap your hands to the sound of every first born dying now" (again a plague)

epic song.
