they are talking about humanity as a whole. in this life as christians we are tempted my many wordly things everyday. the songs overall meaning is saying if we lose our way (i.e. if your song leaves our lips, if your work leaves our hands) that we will be empty not filled with the light of the holy spirit. and people who have not been saved and are blind to what Christ has done will surely critize everything we have done. the fact that we all have the ability to see and hear the things in life that we do enables us to be corrupted hence we will be forgettening our forgivness that Jesus Christ gave us when he died for our sins on the cross. We need to stay strong and true to our faith. that is what this song is about, staying true to Christ. And the short story of what will happens if we wander away. If his word leaves our lips. |
