It's about two people who love each other but are either in a long distance relationship or an extra marital affair. :) "sharing under the same sky" could be about a distant lover - yearning to be with that girl. And if she were there with him he'd "clip her wing and set her sprawling on his pin" could mean, once she gets to him, he will never let him go and he's hinting he'll make love to her, show her how much he loves her...and when he says "grass is always greener when it rains" could mean, isn't it better when we're together? Eve here obviously have wronged the guy but it shows that the guy loves her dearly. They went through a break-up but despite everything they went through, he wants her back...Thus, "Eve, the apple of my eye"...He knows, he's aware of her mistakes but he can see nothing because, he loves her... aaaawwww... so much for dissecting this song...i love it and the sexual undertone to this song... definitely for make-out sesh. :) |

I love Natalie Walker's cover on this song as much as Counting Crows. The lyrics, the melody and even how it was used in the film Cruel Intentions. Amazing. I'd like to relate this song to a person who is sooo vulnerable, who is weak for the love of another person that He/She is slowly showing his deepest self, a part of himself he usually doesn't show to anyone. He's telling his significant other to "pull me out from inside" which to me is, see the real me, love me...and he's saying "I am ready"...which means, he's ready for the fall...He's revealing himself. He's willing to wear his heart on his sleeves... I am covered my skin No one gets to come in Pull me out from inside I am folded And unfolded And unfolding Sebastian + Annette The calloused Sebastian, who seemed heartless has now found he has one when He met Annette. And he is now revealing the softer side of himself that he didn't know existed...Annette at the same time relates to this song as well as She held her principles, her value as a woman, a strong woman who is not easily swayed by the charms of a seducer, despite her defenses finds herself falling in love and allowing her defenses crumble...And they revealed themselves, their honest selves and didn't hold back anymore because, they were in love. sigh... |

Havent you heard Im stuck on a FACE (she almost closes her lips when she pronounces this) Im stuck on a boy who Fills me with joy I knew I was wrong to Jump straight on into This picture so pretty, But he is so pretty to me And he doesnt know Just how far I would go Just to kiss him He doesnt know how I pine So I make whirlpools And watch him sparkle And well make love, make magic And havent you heard Ive fallen head first And he loves me so Were two in a row Just look in his eyes Theyre blue as the skies are Picture so pretty, But he is so pretty to me So Ill make whirlpools And watch him sparkle And well make love, make magic But I couldnt tell you Just how LONG it takes you cause words dont make What I make with him Havent you heard Im stuck on a face (refers to the picture) Im stuck on a boy Who fills me with joy I knew I was wrong To jump straight on into This picture so pretty, But he is so pretty to me |

This is about starting over. About facing the difficult truth in life & love. She sings with such vulnerability yet you can feel that she's gaining strength but not quite sure yet...Her optimism is there but she is at the same time unsure and so fragile. I love this song, it captures emotions when one goes through a difficult time, a broken heart, loosing a beloved or to anyone who seems a little lost...I'm one of those three. This song is me :) |
