Your theory reminds me of certain ideas in Freudian psychology. The id is supposed to be made of all the body's instinctual wants, such as the desire for food, sex, and sleep. The id cannot be ignored, only masked, repressed, or hidden. It is constantly trying to find it's way out in the form of slips of the tongue, jokes, and dreams. The superego or conscience punishes the mind with guilt and anxiety for wantonly chasing after the id's desires without regard to morals, whether its society's or your own. The 'bending around the wind' and 'compromising reminds me the jokes and dreams that give release to the charges of the id's wants and needs. I belive the 'tempermental goat' could refer to the id itself. |
