| Phoenix – Girlfriend Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think this song is about the death of his girlfriend which seems she fought a battle she couldn't win. "Who bought a miracle sells these fortune tears December's death or glory how you want it?" "die and succeed" this song is bittersweet. he no longer has to see her suffer and fight the unwinning battle while being by her side. it was a good fight. "I say it out loud but you just don't care. Farewell, til you know me well" she's long gone and wouldn't care because she's not here. |

| Britney Spears – If U Seek Amy Lyrics | 16 years ago |

At first I thought the song was about everyone (media) bugging her baby sister jAMIlynn. It sounded as if this was anger about ppl chasing her. Then the song sounded as though Amy was Britney's alter ego. Then I read from another fan F U SeeK Amy. The light bulb went on! Love the song. I never have bought a Spears album but bought this one. Live Mannequin too. |

| Tori Amos – '97 Bonnie and Clyde (Eminem cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |

When I hear this song I know she is dead. She is speaking in whispher because she has no voice. The dead don't. They say children can hear and see and speak to the dead. She is speaking to her daughter from the trunk of the car and from the back seat. He can't hear her. It's almost as she is pissed off at him for killing her but she doesn't yell or scream she whispher softly because the child is listening. "1,2,3, Weeeeee!" I love this song and this album. I hope she will do a part two. This was genious of her to re-do Eminems song. And if you compare the two you feel ashamed for him. Not a lyric is changed, just the repeative casio keyboard playing a generic beat, as you often hear in many rap/r&b music. It's settle, non-overwhelming, her intent is for you to listen to the dead woman, she has something to say. |

"I can take apart the remote control And I can almost put it back together" I think these two lines are key as to the story and meaning of the song. As Americans, in our bad ass ways and manners, we tend to destroy or "take apart the remote control" but we don't know how to create anything without chaos, no healing, no helping, we seek salvation in our allies to help us "and i can almost put it back together". This song is about our innocense as a young country but our 2 year old trantrums which make us assholes to the rest of the world. " look at me look at me". "I can hand out a million vaccinations Or let'em all die from exasperation Have'em all healed from their lacerations Or have'em all killed by assassination I can make anybody go to prison Just because I don't like 'em And I can do anything with no permission I have it all under my command" We as Americans are this Country. We are what we stand for. The change is now, or we can repeat our ways and our history. " i can ride my bike with no handlebars". if you listen closely to the end his voice isn't so innocent because he knows where he was and where he comes from. He knows he's going to repeat it all. |
