I find a lot of American political references in this song. "When they all come crashing down- midflight" -- The first verse references 9/11. I think this is a song to George Bush and his arrogance of being called our "American leader." |

This song describes my life perfect. To me, it feels like what it is like to grow up in a christian family and one day realizing religion is nonsense. You put on a front for so long, make people think you still believe just to make them happy. One day you confess and your family shuns you for your behavior and all you wanted was acceptance. Welcome to southern baptist mentality. |

I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up yet but the first time I heard this song I automatically thought of the song being written about an abortion from the perspective of the baby still in the womb and I've thought it was the darkest song Evanescence has ever written since. |
