This song really resonated with me when I lost a girl I loved. I actually broke it off because I was afraid of family conflicts, but after several months I realized my mistake and tried to go back. She wasn't interested. She wanted to throw away or give back everything I had ever given her, and it felt to me that doing so would cause me to fade away and disappear from her heart. Maybe it is about Patti, but she had rejected him at some point...even if she eventually came back to him. This song still chokes me up. |
