They realize there is much more to life to live, but there's no more "fight" left in them to cope. The perspective could be that you are not alone, that there are others that feel the same way. Hence, why two people are singing roughly the same lyrics. Shaun Morgan (Seether) sings about wanting to hold the pain away, but he let his lover go. Amy Lee (Evanescence) proclaiming her vulnerability, and crying out for help, from someone she is no longer with anymore. They are both 'Broken". |

| This song is "NOT" about religion. This song is about having your heart torn out, and dealing with the pain. It's obvious that she adored whomever she is missing. This person was a part of her. So much so that very very thought tears her down to nothing all over again. This person being gone feels like the very life has been taken from her. Her very essence is threatened by the missing part, and she is trying to cope with that loss. She is wishing that she could Love her way back to happiness but she knows that her sorrow will continue for the rest of her life while this person is gone. Read the lyrics, she is grieving from the bottom of her soul. | |
