"Comparisons are easily turned Once you've had a taste of perfection Like an apple hanging from a tree I picked the ripest one I still got the seed" She was in love with a man who went off to war. There's no "comparison" with him and this new man, seeing as she's already "had a taste of perfection". "You said move on Where do I go I guess second best Is all I will know" Since he was going to war, he didn't want her to be just sitting at home worrying about him or waiting for him, especially if he didn't come back. So he told her to just move on with her life. That's my take on it. Especially since it keeps flashing back to him being in the war and her having pictures of him on her dresser. In the end, he ends up dying in war, and she's stuck with this man she's moved on with. She's having a lot of trouble moving on because she is so in love with this man at war that she was once with and all she wants to do is be with him. But she can never be with the man that she was in love with again. |

| Just watched the video. Whoever she was with died in action. She moved on, but just can't fully move on to this new guy. All she ever does is think about the man she was with who she loved. I don't really know the meaning behind it but I loved the video/song. It's amazing. | |
