A friend of mine when to a Tegan & Sara concert and she told me that before Sara played this song she said it was about her experimentation with drugs and how her mother didn't know about it but Sara knew she was getting out of control, so that explains the "SOS to my mother take the hinges off the door" line; like she wanted her mother to help her and see what she was doing. "Make a map of what you see direct pain effectively" is her taking out pain in drugs,. I love this song, It's so mysterious a nd I think it can be interpreted in many different ways. |
