wow. that was odd. i have no idea why i said rico was in a relationship with the person, because when all that happened to me, i wasn't dating the guy. we had this weird thing going where he would tell me nice things and make me seem better in the short-term sense, but then he'd turn around and mess with other girls and things like that (i'm allthisistemporary, by the way). |

i'm not sure what the entire song means, but when he says "like we did it over summer long", i don't think he's talking about her making up her mind..he had just said right before "lie down you know it's easy", so i would assume he means exactly what he says.
i could be totally wrong though. |

this song is so fantastic. i could listen to it over and over. there's not really a solid meaning to the song, but it IS awesome.
i also like the cover For The Cleaner did. i looked up little bird on myspace and he came up with a super great version as well. this song just makes me happy and want to write the lyrics on myself all the time! |

and also, when he says "my intentions were to never give myself to anyone, look what i've done", it seems to me more like he's saying he gave it up for her because he loved her, but it's not Christian to have sex before marriage.
that's what i get from it, since i feel the same way. it kinda sounds really emotional near the end, especially with the sort of yelling...it always seems like he feels a lot of guilt about it. :/ |

i think the original song is great. i think this song is great.
i think people need to stop being so sensitive, especially since the original was made in the 80s, so it might be cheesey to some.
i also think this song was made more original with the screaming at the end. i love it. it makes it theirs, if you ask me. i was actually a little bored with the song until i heard the screaming at the end.
they might have also just made a cover of this song, and not directed it to something about Jesus.
