| Elliott Smith – Everybody Cares, Everybody Understands Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I hate how people gripe when others speculate that his songs are about drugs. Even if it's not ABOUT drugs, he references them in a ton of songs. This is exactly what Elliott was saying in, "Fucking ought to stay the hell away from things you know nothing about." How are you going to make a connection to drugs when you have not let them into your life? (Note: I'm not trying to glamorize substance abuse or anything, but once you've been there, you start connecting the dots in his music. I didn't use when I started listening to ES, and couldn't pick up the references until I did.) |

| Lou Reed – The Last Shot Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Heroin. Once you get hooked, even if you have every desire to stay away from the skag, you'll never really know if you'll be able to do it... You'll never REALLY know if it'll be your last shot.. not until you die. | |

I met a girl on the square Who showed me how to kill my cares But once that's done, man, there's nothing to do Girl introduced him to heroin. Once the high is gone, what else is there to do but try to get high again? What's the point of even getting sober, because what else is there to do? Oh, Elliott. |

"You write your name in all of the places no one goes" Reminds me of graffiti. |

Is this an early version of First Timer, or was First Timer an early version of this? "I think of you with hesitation I think of you too hard Come on back to me Don't make me sorry" |
