Lol Katy Perry's Grammy performance sucked. Half of Radiohead and a marching band put on a better show than she did. |

| Oasis – D'You Know What I Mean? Lyrics

Like the majority of Oasis songs, this one doesn't seem to have any specific meaning behind it.
But...
"Coming in a mess, going out in style" has to be one of my favorite lines ever! |

It's a shame the recording of this is so bad, it's one of the best Joy Division songs.
Radiohead's cover is excellent though. |

| Radiohead – Electioneering Lyrics

Thom kinda snarls when he says IIIIIMMMMMFFFF, it makes it sound much darker.
Anyway, obviously political, maybe even referring to propaganda and things like that. Especially the lines "I will stop at nothing/I trust I can rely on your vote" The politician will do anything to win even if it's not legal. Once they have your vote
you can never get it back.
Is it just me or does it feel 1984-influenced? Hm. |

Also, I can't help but laugh when I hear the line 'disappointed people clinging on to bottles.' A bunch of drunk people hanging from bottle attached to the ceiling makes quite the mental picture. |

| Radiohead – Motion Picture Soundtrack (Kid A version) Lyrics
| 16 years ago
|
This song actually sounds like the most optimistic song on Kid A (especially since Optimistic is a misleading title haha.)
It's kind of fuzzy sounding and really really beautiful. It sounds like Thom has a love/hate relationship with whoever this song is directed at, but in the end "I'll see you in the next life" it turns out better. It's about giving up in a sense, and just relying on another person.

Consider me confused. Isn't this track instrumental or am I missing something?
The instrumental version sounds like it belongs on The Eraser. Definitely not a bad thing... |

This is such a beautiful song, Chris's voice is perfect. I'm a big Coldplay fan, but I wish they still made music like this :\
But it sounds like it's about doubts. Everyone has doubts, and everyone has excuses to calm those doubts. 'It's only superstition' is the excuse kinda |

| Radiohead – The Tourist Lyrics
|
I always think of this song when I'm walking somewhere. When I walk by the Capitol, tourists and businesswomen and pages and skaters whoosh past me and in my head I say 'hey man slow down!' It's amusing.
Whenever I listen to this song, I kind of weave together its meaning with Airbag's. To me it sounds like Thom is speaking of someone who is going through life way too fast and recklessly, not stopping to look at the world. In reference to Airbag, it's like being in a car. You don't really drive in a car, you're more sitting on it and kind of controlling it but not always. If you drive it too fast, you can't control it anymore. You crash. But the airbag doesn't always work in real life.
That was probably the worst explanation ever, I hope someone understood it. Ha. |

It's on OK Computer.
Does anyone else's cd booklet have the wrong lyrics? I know none of them are completely right in the whole booklet, but mine says 'sentimental drivel' instead of 'disappointed people.' Does anyone else's say this? |

I love this song, it's so catchy. Thom's voice used to sound very very different.
Also, I'm pretty sure it's "A crazy young man wants to rule the world." |

| Coldplay – Yellow Lyrics

|
This song is so simple but brilliant. I think it's really a song just about love and nothing more. Don't try to look too deep into it. Chris Martin even said that yellow was just a word that fit, it doesn't mean anything in particular. Although there was a meteor shower at the studio when they were recording, hence the look at the stars line. Parachutes never gets old. |

| Radiohead – Creep Lyrics

Overplayed it may be, it's still a good song. No one else can get that tiny bit of sarcasm in their songs quite like Pablo Honey/The Bends era Radiohead.
I also think it's kinda funny that the whole one hit wonder thing moved Thom enough to write My Iron Lung about it (another great song.) |

| Radiohead – How Can You Be Sure? Lyrics

That's because it was actually originally written & performed when Radiohead were called On A Friday (or Shindig). It's pre-Pablo Honey, I think it was on a 1990 demo tape. Look it up. |

| Radiohead – Idioteque Lyrics

This song makes absolutely no sense at all. It's not supposed to. Thom wrote half-songs, ripped them up, put them in a hat and pulled out random lyrics to form this song. Go look up 'Reflections on Kid A' on Youtube. |

| Radiohead – Jigsaw Falling into Place Lyrics
| 17 years ago
|
This is probably my favorite song on In Rainbows, Thom's voice and the guitar make it perfect. The way the lyrics are written is more clear and narrative than other Radiohead songs.
It sounds like at first he's talking about a good relationship, a nice date. By the end things have fallen apart, and the two people just slip away from each other thinking about how it could have been "you eye each other as you pass, she looks back you look back." |
