Nobody's commented on this? I think it's the best song of the album. I think it's about a turbulent relationship--love or friends. Time has changed so much, and they've all moved on (or both have moved on). They know it was the right decision. Now that they look back, everything is so much clearer. True ARS--sorrowful yet optimistic and hopeful. |

This Modern Love suggests to me that he's talking about unrequited love obviously. He's in love (madly) with this person. They do not love him back though. They seem interested, yet they don't. He doesn't know if they just don't love him or they're too scared to love. Modern suggests that it's two men. I dunno, the lyrics do too. Perhaps his love is straight. This song definitely speaks to my situation at the moment; both incredibly rich in love and deeply painful :( |
