Owl City – Dental Care Lyrics 16 years ago
"Golf and alcohol don't mix and that's why I don't drink and drive."

I just understood this line last night! He means to drive as in to hit the golf ball, not as in driving a car! Just thought I'd share my elation at this personal discovery... ^_^

Haste the Day – Autumn Lyrics 17 years ago
I think this song could be talking about soldiers going off to war.

The leaves can represent the soldiers.
The tree is a representation of society as a whole, but the part of society that generally takes the soldiers and their actions for granted.
The flowers can represent the people with personal and intimate relationships with the soldiers.
The sunshine can be seen as all of the good times the soldiers spent at home.
The wind can be seen as the soldiers departure to go off into war.
Lastly the ground can act as a representation of the soldiers fighting and/or death.

To put things in perspective...
The soon-to-be-soldiers spend their lives happily at home (the leaves are green with sunshine upon them). As they leave and prepare to go off into war, becoming soldiers to fight and protect their society which is a beautiful thing (leaves changing beautiful colors upon the unchanging society that is the tree). The soldiers leave to go fight and the only people who really see this are the ones with relationships with the soldiers (every flower stands and watches as the wind takes me away). As the soldiers fight and die, the only ones who feel the true impact of this are ones with intimate relationships with the soldiers (the leaves hit the ground becoming strewn among the flowers, dying and decaying as the flowers eventually die alongside them also; the tree however will just grow new leaves and repeat the cycle, remaining unchanged as leaves come and go...)
