| I think you're taking that line too figuratively. Reseda, Ventura Blvd, Muholland are all references to Los Angeles. If you've ever been to Los Angeles or lived here, you'll know that the houses have teeny yards if at all and the highways almost literally run directly through neighborhoods. It's the only place I've seen that. So I think this line is more of a reference to that rather than suicide. | |
| Blue October – Kangaroo Cry (New Version) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

At a concert in DC, Justin said that travelling, they see so many soldiers leaving their families to go do their jobs. He said that this song was for the families of the soldiers. He got pretty irritated when people were yelling things during his intro at one point, saying he would wait for them to be quiet.... For either interpretation, this song made me even more of a blue october fan than I already was.... |

| Blue October – Sound Of Pulling Heaven Down Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I think that the overarching theme in this song is the absolute feeling of completeness when you've found that one person that you would do anything for. From my interpretation, this song is by far the most romantic song ever... "i want to show you just how fascinating kissing is when earth collides with all the space between" Having that powerful feeling when kissing someone like your entire life is complete...it's like a supernova...an explosion where everything else disappears.... "i'm reaching farther than i ever have before leaving all who broke your heart upon the shore i may be some sort of crazy we may be some sort of crazy but i swear on everything i have and more..." Being uncertain about putting your heart out there, but not caring because the option of not doing so is far scarier than of being vulnerable. Making up for all of the hurt that person has experienced in the past...being so in love that people think you're insane...making promises to that person that you know you could never break.... "that you make the sound of pulling heaven down you brought the rain's romantic pour you make the sound... you make the sound of pulling heaven down" The sound of pulling heaven down is that this person is so perfect for you that heaven seems earthly....Heaven isn't such a big deal when you have that person... Love this song... |

I love this song because I can completely relate...sometimes I feel like my soul is being sucked dry working for the man..."overworked and now I'm all used up" I feel that the entire song is about wanting more out of life than just a 9-5 job that most of us have... |

I'm a huge fan of Death Cab's older stuff, but I have to say that this is my favorite song of all of them...I think it's about someone who got into a relationship and did everything to sabotage it from the start. Sometimes things look good on paper, but the feeling is just not there... "I'd built you a home in my heart with rotten wood that decayed from the start" "Because you can't find nothing at all If there was nothing there all along" I think the person genuinely wants to love/care about the other person in the relationship, but they just don't. |
