I believe this song is about more than just a couple breaking up; I think its about a couple getting divorced (so much more traumatic!) due to the line: "I don't think I want this anymore, as she drops the ring to the floor" Not to mention, marriage is often seen as a 'Happily Ever After' scenario, and in the song it seems that her (marriage) turned out 'Happily Never After' maybe...? Overall, great song and it helped me get through my own divorce. Amazing how music can lift the spirit :] |
