No offense to anyone but so many people I know came up with the explaination that this song is mocking Catholicism. It is mocking some of the Catholics' practices in ceremonies and how their religion is controlling how they live their lives as well as the widespread belief that catholics' soul are evil,(i.e. black)and doomed to hell |

This song is asking the listener if they look at caged animals too closely, would they realize that the world is a faux "habitat" like animals live in in a zoo. It is saying that your entire world could be a fabrication to keep you contained like an animal in a zoo. |
