I think it's "shadowy birds" or "vanishing birds" or the like. This is awesome. The first time i heard this was right after I had been reading the desert fathers and was totally wrecked by the Abbot Joseph quote... then heard it in the song. It gives me goosebumps every time now. To leave it all and jump into the flame... let's do it |

The snake also ruled the whole world with that stick, carrot and string... rewards and punishments. But Jesus refused to take the rewards and accepted the punishments and crushed the snake's head. This is a powerful song. I'm glad they are writing about Jesus. |

| The Barringer Hill is a hill near Seattle, on the Eastside around Kirkland. That's where the band is from, and I imagine that's the hill they are singing of. It's not that important to the song meaning as a whole, but I thought it was neat when I heard it the first time. | |
