| Bon Iver – Holocene Lyrics | 13 years ago |

In an interview Justin Vernon has said that the song is about Holocene (obviously) which as well as being a place, it is also a bar where he stayed during a time of 'darkness and suffering in his soul'. This quote in the same interview from him sums the whole song up pretty well - '"the title is a metaphor for when you're not doing well. But it's also a song about redemption and realizing that you're worth something; that you're special and not special at the same time'. Personally I think the song reflects this agony and also explores the idea that everyone is part of something greater in life - this is definitely reflect in the lyrics 'at once I knew i was not magnificent' - and also in the video; the small boy juxtaposed against the vast landscape. |

| City and Colour – Sister Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| This song is definitely not about drug addiction. I think its more about a mental illness ie depression or schizophrenia ("the whispering ghosts" and "what have the demons done"). The "pills they gave you" is talking about medication etc to help rather than drugs. Saw him at the royal albert hall recently and he played this song which was the first time Id heard it. Its absolutely breathtaking, and no matter what its about express's the pain and anguish felt by both Dallas and evidently his sister in a completely emotional way. | |

Keeping an eye on the world From so many thousands of feet off the ground I'm over you now I'm at home in the clouds, towering over your head I think this part isnt talkign about an airoplane as some people think. I think it means that she/he killed herself - 'at home in the clouds' and the 'keeping an eye on the world' part is referring to her becoming an angel etc. |
