| Courtney Jaye – Traveling Light Lyrics | 14 years ago |
| Sounds like she's easy-breezy and incapable of making deep connections and some poor soul wants her to. Too bad for him, she's not changing. Even the melody of the song is airy and light, very fun to sing along to :) | |
| Holly Brook – Giving It Up For You Lyrics | 14 years ago |

Nobody can string words together and make them sound so perfect like her! I love the allusion to Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt and Moon. It's so true, too, that when you don't allow yourself to take a chance but insist on shallow relationships with deep people, you miss out on love. |

| Sara Bareilles – Gravity Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| How appropriate that it's about her first love... because really, who didn't feel that way? That person is all you've ever known, and without them you're kind of set afloat with no direction. It's so easy to fall right back into them. That is, until you find someone better for you | |
| Anna Nalick – Paper Bag Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This almost reminds me of the transition from high school into college. It's like in high school there is so much pressure to fit in, and it can be very lonely when you feel you don't. College, however, tends to foster individuality and really encourages people to grow into who they were meant to be. i wasn't unpopular in high school by any stretch of the imagination, but there were moments (especially senior year) when i had to repeat "just lay low and get through this. college will be totally rad" over and over |

| Bush – Comedown Lyrics | 15 years ago |

it sounds to me like he's saying "shoot up" right before the second "love and hate get it wrong", leading me to believe its about drugs. He also talks about sleeping all day and police, which also = drugs. Possibly heroine, which is often referred to as a "she" still a fantastic song. some of the best songs are about drugs lol |

| Acres – Walking Next To You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This song is so precious!! He sings it with such honesty and simplicity about his purest source of inspiration, whether it's his daughter or lover or whatnot. <3 | |
| Robin Thicke – Superman Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| This is such a cute song about the strong man and the even stronger woman that has his back. I love his voice and particularly the rumbly piano part right after "shy type baby". gives me shiiivveerrss :) | |
| Slipknot – Vermilion Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Ok this is most likely wrong... but interesting. It's almost like the myth Pygmalion, where the dude (who isnt attracted to women OR men because he saw prostitutes nd got grossed out) carves a statue of a woman, and is so bedazzled by his own work that he falls in love with it. He worships it until, in his desperation, he begs Aphrodite (goddess of lurve) to make her a real woman. Throughout the song he shows his obsession and longing, yet also shows how disgusted he is by his own attraction to his work (cause the dude despised any form of sexuality nd thought women were filthy etc. the aphid reference is possibly there because aphids are little leaf-eating creatures that are asexual, and it is impossible for them to be attracted to anything but leaves) He's a slave to his own desires, yet is the master that carved her into existence. He carves his name into the face that he made to show possession, forbidding ANYONE but him to own her. Rather than "letting this build up", he begs Aphrodite to make her real in the first stanza - a wish that she eventually grants BUT - i do think "vermilion" refers to scarlet, his wife. and i doubt he built her out of a stone |

| Shinedown – Burning Bright Lyrics | 16 years ago |

This song's really open to interpretation. The feel I got from it was that the guy got famous, and suddenly realized he didn't know how to deal with it. He feels like there's all these expectations of him, but he doesn't know what they are. Many extremely famous people feel this way, such as Elvis and Kurt Cobain, and it leads many into depression, drugs, and suicide. The pressure to be different and fresh influenced their music, and yet they feel as though they're doing the same thing as everyone else. The "light" shining through him might be the stage lights, which he secretly hopes will bring joy into his gray world. "Burning bright" may refer to his star status, or again his pretense that he is happy. This song helped me through some tough times, even if i can't relate completely We all know the feeling of inadequacy and shame, and confusion. |

| Barlow Girl – Mirror Lyrics | 16 years ago |

My friend introduced this song to me and explained that it was about a girl who suffered from bulimia, who was so dissatisfied with the image in her precious mirror that she risked her life to meet its impossible standards. NOBODY should ever feel this way about themselves, even if they're 400 pounds. There are healthy and effective ways to deal with weight, and throwing up is not one of them |

| Britney Spears – Baby One More Time Lyrics | 16 years ago |

ok, whoa. chill out with the hate mail while, admittedly, this song is about nothing (like almost every other song of hers) it serves a purpose. It's designed for young girls to scream their heads off to, as I did at the age of 8 when it came out. I "danced" around in a tank top, "singing" her songs, and annoying the hell out of every other person in the house. it kept me out of trouble also, you should be aware, 8-year-olds don't exactly require deeper meaning to their musical tastes, and obviously she just wanted to be flirted with like every other teenage girl on the face of this earth. and she had talent at some point cause she was part of the Mickey Mouse Club, which is how she got a record deal and became famous - NOT by sleeping around all over the place... so SETTLE DOWN with the hating - this song and album was arguably the best of her career, as it just goes downhill from here |
