idk why people are hating. i mean it's dgd. my opinion on bands is that if they have any original members left it's still them. will and matt are the only ones from WISIRO. everyone else left. but i mean give em a break. i do miss the old dgd though. i could kick a wall with that stuff...with this i feel really mellowed out. haha. i wonder what would happen if i were to stick myself in a room with their album cover covering the walls with this music playing and getting really fucked up... |

aw man i love this song, especially the end with the whole guitar riff, then the piano riff. I LOVE IT! gosh, me and my ex both love this song...it's our favorite from this EP. i wish i could see her again... i wonder what the hell happened in between the first album and bone palace ballet to get craig's voice like UBER high. seriously, has anyone noticed the difference!? and less screaming too. usually i hate it when they do that, go from lots of screams to very little, but still, craig owens rules. |

let's see what i'm getting from this... "what excuses do you make? happiness is hard to find" means that people keep make excuses for what happiness is nowadays, they say money makes them happy, or cars or women, but really they're not happy. just satisfied. "i didn't catch a break...maybe i am dying inside?" realized that they're not happy, and then they get sad...and just keep falling into depression, and they think they're dying inside because nothing satisfies them anymore. "february, been so lonely, it's been so long since i felt your touch" maybe a line kurt decided to add cuz he misses someone? or whoever writes the songs. "and i could care less, if i deserve this" don't care if he deserves it, he wants it. "i will never survive, the sting inflicted" we won't survive in the world without discipline. belts sting like hell! "sever the ties, follow procedure" business before family. "pledge abstinence, fuck at your leisure" hyprocrisy. say you won't have sex till you're married, tell others they're wrong for having sex in their teens, then screwing around with your boyfriend/girlfriend later. "breathe in then out, but not out then in" not sure...hmm...think before you say anything? or else you might reevaluate and see you're wrong when it's too late. "cause over function, restart again" favorite line. everyone chooses to fight for a cause, but don't know it's worth in the world, they just know it's for something. we gotta think again. "i need to see my dreams, as i open my eyes" being reborn, as in once you open you're eyes, you see that your dreams and hopes are really nothing. "remembering nothing, and begging for light" you can't remember what it's like to be happy, and you beg to be shown the way. religion maybe. "all the trees, all the birds, and this thing called life, i'd stake it all for forty acres and a trophy wife" we'd trade what's naturally beautiful for something man made that we consider "in" "dust gathers on the books that contain our past, and we're but peons in a circuit built by time to last" we don't read our history, and we keep repeating ourselves, all the mistakes, because we don't look back. "repeat repeat, as we've done before, our history all lost in war" we're doomed to repeat ourselves because war destroys whatever we know to be true, so we only think it's true. "when the last of our cities are but powder and dust, the damned who remain will live with God and the glory of us" God, our greatest creation, or our great creator, will remain even after our cities are gone, because we will leave memories and myths with those who didn't deserve to move on. pretty depressing song, lol. idk, it seems like what i'm going through right now. i grew up christian, but i can't seem to find any proof that there is a heaven or hell, or even a God. it's difficult, becuase right now i'm going through a depression, and everyone tells me to look to God because he helps all. and i really can't. geez, these guys are great. i love them. btw, this is just my interpretation, you can make it your own or change it, i really don't mind, lol. also, why is it called "Treee Village"? why was mine rejected? it had the right lyrics and everything. right spelling too, lol. |

idk, i'm hearing "blaming myself", and i keep listening to these songs on a daily basis. and wereachthesound, where'd you get that quote? i'm not denying you, but still, if you're right then that could mean the whole message machine thing is that mom and daughter recorded a message machine thing together. but it seems more logical to me that they got the inspiration for this song from that...i mean, dgd's lyrics aren't specific to one thing, now are they? they always have two sides to each song, like a story...lol, dgd is an awesome storyteller... |

ok, well the "drowning in the lake" part seems like some sort of symbol or something, a metaphor. but i'm guessing it's about how this guy(or girl, take it as you wish) is coping with the loss of their loved one, listening to their answering machine so they could hear their voice, cuz they know they can never hear them again, and (s)he keeps blaming himself/herself, and they tell him/her it's not his/her fault. in other parts of the song, he/she is comtemplating on moving to another city, or somewhere, but doesn't understand what that would prove, the pain would stay with them inside, and they are looking for direction, and he/she realizes that their loved always looked to them for directions, like they knew all the answers... i think the title means they're looking for happiness when their world is lost. wow i haven't heard the whole album, i've heard about four songs, but this seems like a really depressing album, lol. considering the whole happiness title. self blame, treachery, hypocrisy, wow, lol. |
