| DJ Khaled – All I Do Is Win Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I LOVE Luda. | |
| Bruno Mars – The Lazy Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Haha, so I really love this song, but the parts about "throwing his hand down his pants" etc. kind of threw off the vibe for me. :P Still, it feels (for the most part) like my college weekend theme song. | |
| Anberlin – Depraved Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I love the "you're not a slave, so get off your knees" part. This whole song is pretty great. Not as good as (*Fin), but still awesome. | |
| Broken Records – Nearly Home Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| Found this song through a LOST (tv show) promo during season 6. Great string accompaniment! :) | |
| Switchfoot – Your Love Is A Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| No interpretation needed, it's just great music. I love when Jon uses music as a metaphor in his songs, like in this and Sing It Out. :) | |
| Switchfoot – Sing It Out Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
Probably the most beautiful song on this album, in my opinion. It's all about hope through despair. My favorite part is the bridge: I'm holding on I'm holding on to you My world is wrong My world is a lie that's come true And I fall in love with the ones that run me through When all along all I need is you It's so true. When we fall in love with the things of this world, or the people that aren't meant for us, sometimes being "run through" is what it takes to get our attention and bring us back to God. Jon Foreman's music and lyrics never fail to get me right where I need it. <3 |

| Relient K – Terminals Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think it's supposed to be, "but if grace receives all my weight," not "waste." :) | |
| Relient K – (If You Want It) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I LOVE the subtle string accompaniment in some parts. And like pnw13 said, the part that goes "I met the devil and i stared her in the eyes" is so hauntingly beautiful. | |
| Anberlin – The Haunting Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Oh my gosh... this song is just so beautiful. I wish this was released on one of their studio albums! | |
| Relient K – Forget And Not Slow Down Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I love this line: "Be certain the steps of left and right don't fight the direction of upright." Just bought this album! I am very excited. :) |
|
| Anberlin – Younglife Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"The first time staying out all night The last time you look me in the eyes I can see that in the back of my mind Over and over again." This part totally reminds me of a friend of mine... I've always wanted to become better friends with him, but he seems to be drifting away. This is really a great song in how well people can relate to it! |
|
| Anberlin – Retrace Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This is one of the best Anberlin songs, hands down. "And no where else has ever felt like home. And I can't fall asleep when i'm lying here alone. I replay your voice, it's like you're here. You move the earth, but now the sky is falling. Retrace the steps we took on that long summer night. In my mind, I'm back by your side." My favorite part right there. :) I can so relate to this song because I'm a sucker for nostalgia and "retracing" old memories. |

| Anchor & Braille – Sleeping Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Like MCSmate said, the song title of this has changed (for the like 500th- but final!- time). ;) | |
| Anchor & Braille – Wedding/Funeral Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song is so beautiful. It can be viewed from two perspectives (hence the title): someone he once loved is getting married to someone else, or someone he once loved has died and he's attending their funeral. Holy cow, his voice is amazing in this song. |
|
| Anchor & Braille – Summer Tongues Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Oh my gosh, this song is sooo sweet. If you have the physical album, there's a really beautiful paragraph explaining this song, directed to his wife. | |
| Anchor & Braille – In Retrospect, it was Obviously Hell Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
"But these scars on my heart Well they keep me in line." Those are some of the best lines in this song... I love this whole album. <3 Stephen's voice is so beautiful. BTW, just to add my two cents, the official CD calls this "Inretrospect." |
|
| Regina Spektor – The Call Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I get the impression that this song is similar to songs like David Cook's "Come Back to Me." It's about 2 people in love, but then one of them has to leave- for an obligation, or "to find himself," or whatever. The other person is telling them, don't forget where you came from, and I know you'll come back someday ("no need to say goodbye"). Beautiful song! I'm addicted to it right now. :) |
|
| Molly Jenson – Thinking of You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yeah, I think mleighj has got it right. I don't think she specified at the show I went to who the movie star is, but yeah... those are the 3 guys. :D It's such a cute song! | |
| Thousand Foot Krutch – Ordinary Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| It's "misrepresentation," not "mispresentation." Also, I think the line is "laugh if that makes me ordinary." (The current lyrics are missing a few words in that line.):) | |
| Thousand Foot Krutch – Bounce Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
One correction- in the chorus, the last line is "keep the party jumping [not "rocking"] in an old school way." So any ideas what he's singing about? |
|
| Thousand Foot Krutch – Step to Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Yeah, it's sort of telling Satan (or even yourself) that you're following God now, and not following the way of sin anymore. Yes, it does have a religious meaning! | |
| Switchfoot – The Blues Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
One minor correction: the end of the second paragraph should be "I miss direction," not "I've missed direction." My favorite Switchfoot song EVER! I remember the first time I heard this song, I felt like *I* could have written the lyrics (if I could even write songs). ;) I mean, I've felt this way so much. Like people said, it's a sad song, but still has a hopeful outlook. |
|
| Anberlin – (*Fin) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Wow. I am blown away, reading Stephen's commentary on this song. This song is so powerful. | |
| Anberlin – (*Fin) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I don't think he was given that title because he was confused with Judas.... but I'm not exactly sure what the real story is. ;) | |
| Anberlin – Inevitable Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Yeah, I think you guys are spot-on. Two kids grew up together, and then they realized that they were in love. :) Breaking clocks, obviously, means he wants it to last forever. The one part I don't get is the part about only hurting the ones we really love... How did he hurt the girl, in this song? I mean, how does it relate to the rest of the song? |
|
| Anberlin – Soft Skeletons Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I definitely see it as a song about drug abuse. The part about needles, especially, convinces me that that's what it's about. But, of course, you guys could be right that she is also a victim of some sort of abuse. | |
| Anberlin – Blame Me! Blame Me! Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think it's about a relationship that's falling apart, but the girl is blaming him for the break, and not owning up. Something like that. :) | |
| Anberlin – Haight Street Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I think Stephen said in one of his blogs that it's about a "boys night out." Still, it could probably go several ways. Very catchy and fun! I think it's a great addition to the album. :D | |
| Anberlin – The Unwinding Cable Car Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Well, I'm not sure... but I think it's like what some people have said before. Basically, it's like telling someone- don't give up, keep praying! Also it mentions "it's the choices that make us who we are... go your own way," which sounds like he's saying "don't conform." | |
| Anberlin – Feel Good Drag Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I agree with all of these interpretations of the song, but I did have one question. What does he mean in the lines, "Failure is your disease/ You want my outline drawn"? It sounds like she wants him dead or something, with the outline part, but I don't get how that fits the rest of the song. Thanks! |
