When I took my little girl to Miley's concert last year this song played over the intercom while we were waiting for the concert to begin (which was hours, because it was so crazy getting in there). Myself and all the other parents sitting around us were in agreement that this one makes us cry every single time... to think of your little babies growing up, and you're so proud of who they've become but you just don't want to let them go. Very sweet. |

This song means so much to so many people. Several years ago when I was still in high school, a friend and I walked in Relay for Life in honor of our mutual best friend who was (still is) battling cancer, and a local singer performed this song just before the luminaria ceremony. It was so fitting and we all cried. I still listen to it sometimes when I'm scared about what's going to happen to my friend and just need to cry. It also meant a lot to another friend of mine when she lost her son to SIDS at 9 weeks. It reassures us that no matter how bad things get, when our heart breaks, Jesus is with us, holding us, always. |

It is definitely about Miley's grandfather. I took my little girl to her concert last year and this was the last song she sang, she mentioned that it was about her grandfather right before singing it and they showed pictures of the two of them during the song. It was very sad. On the show, Miley's character does use the song in a context in which it regards her character's mother, but in real life it's about her grandfather. Very sweet, it's one of my little girl's favorites. |
