| Schuyler Fisk – Fall Apart Today Lyrics

i absolutely adore this song. to me, it could be about a relationship that fell apart, or is on the verge of doing so, and she's telling him not to forget the love that they have for each other, that they shouldn't be blinded by disagreements or hardships. i can definitely relate to this song, now more than ever. |

it's definitely "when you're lucid, you're the sweetest thing."
great song. i was so happy to hear about the new album, and i'm very impressed with it.
camera obscura always has a funny way of making a sad love song still seem so damn happy. it's infectious. |

i'm surprised no one mentioned the mild sampling of nina simone. i think that's one of the strong points of the song.
agreed, pretty self-explanatory; however, one could delve further in saying that his love is unrequited not just professed. |

agreed. thanks for translating. although i don't speak portuguese, i'm in love with the language, and little joy is just so amazing. this song just seems very reflective to me, i think that's why i like their music so much in general. all of the songs are about reflection on various aspects of life and the human persona. |

i know this song should probably come off as pretty depressing, about someone who alienates herself from everyone, and although i relate, i can't help feeling happy when i hear this song. it just sounds so pleasant with the violins, the xylophone, and the flute. i don't feel so introverted when i listen to this. |

| Grizzly Bear – Don't Ask Lyrics

i agree with farbeyondme, to the point at least that it's not a one-night-stand per se, but that it is about two ex-lovers still interacting with one another. it seems like one of them keeps talking about how good things are going in their life "it's the work you say you're doing, but baby, i don't even ask," and the other person can't get over this person, "but when i'm around you i still lose control," and although no one asks about their past relationship, this person still harps on it.
i don't know, this song just really hits home for me. |

| Grizzly Bear – La Duchess Anne Lyrics

i think this is about two people who keep trying to make a relationship work, even though they know it's not and hasn't been working for a while, see the reference "even the sex couldn't make up for the rest." it seems like one person in the relationship keeps making mistakes, and the other person just continues to take them back and accept their faults, see the refernce "don't you realize how good you've had it?" meaning, don't you see how good the relationship has been, and yet you keep taking it for granted.
i don't know, that's just my interpretation of the song, since no one else has commented on it. |

nevermind. janis did the original, but the three degrees version is also really great. |

i'm not exactly sure, but i believe this is a cover of the original "maybe" from the three degrees, which in my opinion, is an excellent version of the song. it's all spoken word, and then the last, maybe two minutes, are an all-out explosion of vocals. |

how has no one commented on this song? such a great, eclectic use of instruments and freak-folk. i have no idea what it's about, but it's damn catchy. |

| Animal Collective – Guys Eyes Lyrics

i'm not a man, but i definitely have a crush on panda bear, and this song just makes it come on stronger.
to me, it's a very sexual song. i think when he says:
"i want to do what my body needs to
i want to show to my girl that i need her
i started using my mind
and i used my hands
it was what i want to"
he's talking about being sexually adventurous with her, and that he is really into her and wants to show her how much he likes her by physically showing her.
i really don't think it's about jerking off, but then again, everyone has a different interpretation until you hear it from the horse's mouth. |

| Beirut – Cliquot Lyrics

i know this is a somewhat morbid idea, but could this song have any reference to a gay AIDS patient? i mean, if you think about it, it almost seems like he's illustrating that he was infected with AIDs, which his lover was not expecting, and now feels as though he can no longer be close to him.
aside from that, on a personal note, this makes me recall a point in most of my relationships, one in particular, where i pined for my ex for months after we had called it quits. i listen to this song and think of him, and feel all those old feelings all over again.
absolutely beautiful song, as i've said about most beirut songs. |

this is such a beautiful song. the more i listen to beirut (as i've been a fan for quite awhile), the simplicity of their music just seems to swell in my ears. this song just makes me think about majestic country sides and lonely walks fueled with the contemplation of life and all its glory. |
