| The Meg And Dia Band – Tell Mary Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
The song is about a girl named Mary and what she went through when her boyfriend was breaking up with her. Adam was hidding that he was seeing this other girl behind her back and felt bad about it and bad about telling her at the same time. Smeered purple and red is her make up. Adam more or less got tired of Mary when her "skirt boaring" and how in the begining it was a passionate romance that they had. ["After the first touch, her skirt boaring. Her voice deep and charming at first. You can make her come back once in a while, if you made her your first girl. There she'd be with her powder half falling off, so perfect from far."] That phrase is commonly misheard but it means that she woul more or less do anything to get back with him. ["'Meet me at the pictures, Mary.' Adam said that as he was leaving. Meet me. Meet me. You're going to leave her tonight."] That is commonly wrong too.. That is what Adam said and more or less the person singing it is the nararrator to Mary's story. |
