To me, this song is about feeling like the world's problems are trapped inside of you and that sometimes, no matter how much people try to help they can't get you out of yourself. The more time you spend inside of your head, the less you feel like you can relate to others. You feel inadequate and alone and yeah, rotten. Also, that in taking on so many problems you can't get what you need out because you have so much they are unable to tell you how to fix what's inside of you. and you can't tell the loved ones in your life to stop placing everything on top of you. All you can tell them is today is only one day and it will be over before you know it. Suffering is only temporary. The last half I think is more of a direct answer from yourself. You're not even your own friend. There is nothing left to offer. In the end, the only ones that are monsters are the ones that are so selfish that they can't see how much you need. Even though, you feel like it is you. |
